Passport
The children will receive a lesson passport. Those passports are handmade and personal. The passports shows how many lessons there are and what the subjects of the lessons are. Within the passports there is enough room for a sticker for every lesson. This way the children as well as their parents can see how many lessons there are still to come and what subjects have been handled.
Handouts
On a frequent basis the children will get handouts to take home with them such as drawings, pictures, masks, games on paper, etc. This way the children can show their parents what they’ve been doing during the lessons and the parents can even practice at home with them.
Living Books (IT)
The instructor will also use “living books”. This is an IT application showed on a laptop.
Living books are picture book stories that come alive and will be read aloud interactively. Research shows that using living books have a positive effect on vocabulary and language understanding. These living books do not replace ordinary picture books. They are used as a supplement.
Research also shows that children with language problems do not benefit from just reading picture books. They do however learn from electronic picture books showed on a computer. |
