Lesson structure
NL4Kids believes in structure. Although every lesson has it's own subject, all the 50 minutes lessons have the same structure. This will help the children feel at ease and secure and therefore learn in a faster way.

1. Welcoming phase
Every lesson starts the same way.
The goal of the first exercise is to create openness and to make sure that the children feel at ease and safe. We will learn general questions and greetings by singing a song together and by asking each other questions while throwing a colored ball or dice.

2. Main subject phase
To connect as much as possible to the children’s perceptions and experiences, every subject will be addressed through playing a game. The children are expected to interact.
The instructor provides attractive lesson material for each lesson and objects like coloured Lego bricks, fake food, toy animals, memory games, clothing, books and music.
The instructor plays the game together with the children.

3. Lose the energy phase
After the main subject game, which is usually a more quiet game, the children need time to fire off their energy. We’ll do this through other, more active games. For example through a game as Simon says.

4. Cooling down phase
During the last five minutes of the lesson the instructor reads a book, shows the children something on the laptop or sings a song with them. The story, song or movie always connects to the subject of today’s lesson.
